Aman, a recognized lawyer for his innovative ways and track record of more than 25 years’ in providing quality legal service, is the Managing Partner at Aman & Partners LLP. With depth of experience in academia, judiciary and corporate private practice, Aman’s expertise include corporate law, M&A (including private equity practice), anti-trust and banking, and infrastructure and projects. Aman holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Law.
Bahakal is a seasoned corporate lawyer with 15 years of legal experience under his belt. Formerly a lecturer, in-house legal counsel and legal practitioner, Bahakal is skilled in investment and regulatory matters, M&A (including privatization and liberalizations), commercial contracts, public procurement, energy, project finance and arbitration. Bahakal holds an LL.M (with distinction) in Int. Economic & Business Law (IEBL) from the University of Groningen (the Netherlands); LL.M in Int. Dispute Settlement Law from the Graduate Institute (Geneva) and is a recipient of Chancellor’s Gold Medal from Haramaya University, Law School.
Ermias, a former Assistant Professor in law with over 15 years’ , has experience in academia and private practice in areas such as litigation, corporate law, ADR, construction and procurement laws, oil and gas as well as maritime laws. Ermias has appeared before the Permanent Court of Arbitration and has published extensively in different areas of laws. Ermias, obtained his LL. M in International Trade and Investment Laws from the University of Pretoria and the University of Amsterdam and his LL. B from the Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Law.
Micael, formerly in-house legal counsel at a major local group company, has accumulated wealth of legal and business knowledge, and has hands-on experience in managing high stake negotiations. Micael’s expertise include deal structuring and negotiations, Due diligence, Mergers and acquisitions, Arbitration and Investment advisory services. Micael holds Master of Law and Business (MLB) from Hamburg, Germany and LLM in International Commercial and Investment Arbitration (MIDS) in Geneva, Switzerland. A Recipient of the Chancellor’s Gold Medal, he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) in 2008 from Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Law.
Tilahun Weldie (PhD)
Tilahun (PhD), formerly an assistant professor at Bahir Dar University School of Law, specializes in investment, business laws and international trade law with publications in leading national and international journals. Tilahun holds a PhD from Monash University, Australia, an LL.M in International Trade and Investment Law from the University of Pretoria and American University Washington College of Law and his LL.B (great distinction) from Bahir Dar University. He obtained a certificate in International Legal Studies from American University.
Deborah has experience providing corporate and commercial law advice. She has led projects involving investment structuring advice on cross border transactions, regulatory due diligence investigations, legal opinions, and drafting transaction documents. Deborah has advised on transactions in the energy, manufacturing, logistics, IT and finance industry sectors. Deborah earned her LLB from Addis Ababa University, and LLM in International Economic Law from the University of South Africa. Deborah has been recognized as a Rising Star by Legal 500.
Mintewab, a New York Bar admitted lawyer with passion for corporate and transactions practice, has led major projects involving M&A, due diligence, legal memos, negotiation and execution of transactions at various Government offices. Mintewab has interned at the International Investment for Sustainable Development in Geneva and brings with her a unique development angle to investments. Mintewab received her LLM in International Business Regulation, Litigation and Arbitration from New York University, School of Law and her LL. B (very great distinction) from Addis Ababa University, School of Law. Mintewab is currently a Visiting Lawyer at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, a law firm based in New York. Redeat, formerly an investment and legal analyst in an investment consultancy firm, is a recognized young lawyer for her exceptional knowledge and awareness about policy discourse and its developments, regulatory and government affairs, corporate and investment law, financial regulations and legal research. Redeat holds an LL. M in International Trade Law at the University of Essex, England and LL.B from Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Law.
Eman, a very talented and young lawyer is currently engaged in writing legal memos and Opinions, drafting of several commercial documents and contracts, advisory on labour issues. Eman holds an LL.B (with great distinction) from Addis Ababa University, Faculty of Law.
Henok, a former Dire Dawa University lecturer, is a skilled lawyer with experience in corporate and commercial law. He drafts legal documents and advises clients in a variety of fields, including investment law, corporate law, taxation, intellectual property law, and regulatory compliance among others. Henok earned an LLM in Public International Law from Addis Ababa University and an LLB from the University of Gondar's School of Law (with very great distinction).
Biruk is a very enthusiastic and result-driven law graduate with prior experience drafting defence memorandum of appeal, writing case briefs and reviewing cassation decisions and laws. He currently works on legal memos, contract reviews, competition filing, due diligence reports and research on various legal frameworks. Business Development Manager
Wubedel has more than ten years of extensive experience in fields ranging from customer service to project management as well as business development management. She brings excellent relationship management skills and a breadth of experience across multi-cultural settings. She has had the opportunity to work for various organizations, in different industries. Wubedel has gained invaluable experiences working for a Commodity Exchange, an airliner, a diplomatic mission, international development organizations, and a private management consulting firm. Wubedel holds a Bachelor of Art in Political Science and International Relations from Addis Ababa University and an MBA from University of Reading, Henley Business School, UK and she was awarded for her “Significant Contribution to the MBA Programme”.
Finance and Admin Head
Aweke is a Finance and Account Manager with over 15 years of experience both in the private and non-profit sector directing accounting and finance functions of multiple organisations as a full-time employee and as a consultant. Aweke holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Addis Ababa University College of Commerce and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from HiLCoE School of Computer Science & Technology College and is currently working towards his ACCA accountancy qualifications.
Atsede, an accountant and administration professional, is the firm’s Office Manager. Atsede is in charge of finance, accounting, and billing at our office. Atsede holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in accounting from Admas University.
IT Support Consultant
Engdawork has extensive IT professional experience in various areas such as networking, security, and database development. In previous roles, he served as the IT Department Head and oversaw various technological implementations, including ERP solutions. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the HiLCoE School of Computer Science and Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Information Technology from Addis Ababa University.
Andinet is a former judge who served on both criminal and civil benches for over five years. The last six years, he has been a practicing lawyer representing clients in various civil and criminal cases. Andinet received his LLB from Haramya University School of Law and is currently working on his LLM in Public International Law at Addis Ababa University.
Yoseph is a registered Trademark Agent and a licensed Federal Attorney with over ten years of expertise providing end-to-end intellectual property services such as legal advisory services, due diligence, trademark registration, and representation of clients in courts and tribunals. Yoseph received his LLB from Mekelle University and is currently pursuing his LLM in Business Law at Addis Ababa University. He received credentials from WIPO in the areas of Intellectual Property and Arbitration and Mediation, as well as a certificate from China Intellectual Property (SIPO) in the area of Chinese Intellectual Property laws.
