Tilahun’s promotion recognizes his strong legal expertise, contribution to the firm, and continued commitment to delivering dependable, practical, and business-aware legal counsel to clients.

Tilahun specializes in fintech, corporate, data protection, banking and finance, and communications laws. He has advised and represented leading global and regional companies on complex and high-stakes matters.

Notably, Tilahun was among the legal counsels who played a pivotal role in supporting the Global Partnership for Ethiopia/Vodafone Consortium and Safaricom Telecommunications Ethiopia PLC in their successful bids for Ethiopia’s telecom and mobile money licenses — one of the most significant market liberalization milestones in the nation’s history.

Beyond his legal practice, Tilahun is a widely published scholar, with articles appearing in leading national and international journals.

Tilahun joined Aman & Partners LLP in January 2020 as a Principal Associate, following his tenure as an Assistant Professor at Bahir Dar University School of Law.

He holds a PhD from Monash University in Australia, an LLM in International Trade and Investment Law from the University of Pretoria and American University Washington College of Law, and an LLB from Bahir Dar University.
